How to fully activate iOS 5 beta (the right way)

This guide explains how to fully activate iOS 5 beta for non-developers without crippling your iPhone or iPod Touch. Notifications work, push works, multitasking works, sync works and iMessage works. If you've already installed iOS 5 skip to instruction 4 and if you've already installed and jailbroken skip to step 5. This tutorial is unlikely to work on iPads and since the redsn0w beta is mac only you must have a mac.
1. Download the iOS 5 beta firmware (torrent or http://imzdl.com/#)
2. On your device screen in iTunes 10.5(Download from above link) hold the shift key and click update
3. Select the beta firmware you downloaded and restore it
4. Once the update has finished use redsn0w(download) to jailbreak your device. Once its jailbroken open redsn0w again and select "just boot tethered" from the second screen

5. Once your device has finished jailbreakng and the lock screen has loaded triple tap the home button to turn on voice over
6. Tap the status bar then drag with 3 fingers from the top of the screen down to the bottom to open the notification center
7. Triple tap the home button again and click on the Yahoo logo to open the stock app then press the home button to get to the springboard
8. Open Cydia, go to the search tab, search for iFile and download it
9. In iFile navigate to the locationSystem/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist and open it in the property list editor
10. Remove the release type key and save
11. (iPhone only) Go back to Cydia, add the source "http://repo.bingner.com/" search for "SAM" and install SAMSprefs
12. (iPhone only) Go into settings, then SAM, and setup the carrier
13. Reboot your device and boot tethered with redsn0w and setup your device.
Once you've done this you'll be able to use multitasking, iCloud, syncing and iMessage along with all the other features that required activation to work!

Hello Chrome 12, good-bye Google Gears

Google updated its stable browser channel today, pushing Chrome 12 to its widest base of users. Chrome 12 stable (download for Windows | Mac | Linux) doesn't contain any surprises from the Chrome 12 beta that was released a month ago, but it does bring more hardware acceleration support and better browsing security. It also marks the end of public support for Google Gears, the offline Web app tool.
The security improvements are the biggest change in version 12. In addition to 14 security holes getting patched, including five marked high priority, Google has expanded its "Safe Browsing" technology to include malicious file protection. It won't block all malicious file downloads, but it does do a better job of examining your downloads before they reach your hard drive. In the blog post announcing the new Chrome release, Google was careful to address privacy concerns and point out that the enhancements don't track which sites you've been downloading files from.
Another security change adds the user's ability to delete Flash cookies. This makes sense, given that Flash has come baked into Chrome for some time.

iPhone Dev Team’s key member, MuscleNerd, confirms iOS 5 jailbreak through his twitter account and posts some screenshots of jailbroken iPod Touch 4G running on iOS 5.
Apple announced iOS 5 at the WWDC 2011 conference in San Francisco and released iOS 5 beta 1 for developers immediately. The final and public version will be shipped in this fall.

Here are the screenshots of jailbroken iOS 5 device:

iOS 5 jailbreak is made possible using ever-lasting Limera1n exploit and Tethered Boot utility, meaning you will have to connect your device with PC after every boot to get jailbroken state on it. The official jailbreak tools and procedures will be posted after Apple release iOS 5 for common users. If you are already registered with Apple’s developer program, you can get the beta copy for your device.

MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team's redsn0w 0.9.8b1 to jailbreak iOS 5 beta 1 tethered. However, do keep in mind that redsn0w 0.9.8b1 has only been released for Mac users at the moment, so Windows users can not jailbreak iOS 5 beta 1 tethered at this time.
Download Redsn0w 0.9.8b1 for Mac.

Dell to Launch a Windows 7 based 10-inch Tablet

At a conference February 8, Dell announced the impending launch of its Windows 7 based tablet. This tablet, as CNETreports, is going to be 10-inches in size -- which is twice the size of a certain 5-inch "Tablet" Dell had tried to peddle consumers with before. This tab doesn't seem like a direct jab fun-filled devices like the iPad but will be focused to serve the needs of corporate users.
The Windows 7 powered "Business Tablet" will be powered by an unspecified Intel processor; we wonder whether it will be the netbook-like Intel Atom grade fitted in the HP Slate 500, or the faster Core i3/i5 ULV variety as seen on the Eee Slate EP121.

This tablet will be made available by the middle of the year. Currently, in the country, MSI's WindPad 100W is a Windows 7 powered tablet that's already officially selling.

On the note of tablets, we'll also see what HP has up their sleeves as they announce the new WebOS based devices (possibly tablets) a little after midnight today.

Some options, such as setting macros, are only available in the full (commercial) version of HippoRemote. Tap the Trackpad button at the top left to switch to the trackpad.
Now you’re ready to control your computer. To move the cursor on the computer screen, flick or drag your finger across the trackpad.
The buttons at the top act as right and left mouse buttons. Simply tap them for right and left mouse clicks.

Select the Keyboard button to switch to bring up the onscreen keyboard mode enter text
The Split Screen button will give you both the keyboard and trackpad at the same time.
    Conclusion
HippoRemote Lite is a slick and easy way to control your PC from your iPhone or iPod Touch. If you are interested in some of extra features available in the commercial version of HippoRemote, check out our review of HippoRemote Pro 2.2.
